“MARY”
Framing still life to decorate a rented empty apartment shelf/
Is it yours or is it mine / it seems to me it belongs to a certain space/in a certain time
How easily the clouds do run into each other and block out the sun/
Drinking out of enormous glasses / what passes through us is not easily seen/
those electronic dreams
Oh sweet Mary, I’m on my knees, but the only word you’re hearing from me is please /
Our kingdom is outlined in gold / but the cold took our blankets and they repaved all the roads /
And I swear to you the last breathe I breath / will be the last breathe you steal from me /
said the last man in the last seat
“GREY”
Memories that seem to slant into dreams / Distort and confuse reality
Rivers and streams that hide behind your eyes /
So I went through the woods and across your lawn / but when I came to your window I found you had gone
Swimming through seas of eternal light / afraid of the fear of the fear of night
Stars that explode into the darkness of your sight
So I went through your window and across your bed /
It was then I realised years ago you lost your head
“COASTAL ROADS”
Overwhelmed with flowers that wilt / puzzle pieces that don’t fit
Your nobel cause is just a cause
Overjoyed with things you’ve built / tattered cloth sewn into a quilt
Your undecided mind fits with these times
Warm coastal roads / gun powdered roads / tying knots in your mind
Overexposed to digested lies / postage stamps covering dead flyes
Your undecided heart fills your eyes
Warm coastal roads / gun powdered roads / simple, forgotten words, you once told
